Principal Technical Delivery Lead
Delivery you can take to the board.
I run multi-million-pound technology programmes for regulated businesses, and I lead the global teams that build them. Thirteen years across banking, mortgages, financial services, automotive and tax, at Mindera, Accenture, PwC and NTT DATA.
What I do
I run the account, not just the plan
At Mindera I own a multi-million-pound client account for the UK's largest real estate group: several projects running at once, the budget, the forecasts for revenue and staffing, and the next phase of work, shaped with the client's leadership and turned into signed statements of work.
I lead teams across four countries
More than thirty specialists across the UK, Portugal and Brazil today, and squads in India before that, nearshore and offshore, working as one team. I plan the people by role, seniority and location, and I develop the peers who run the work day to day.
I rebuild delivery around AI
Requirements, specifications, coding agents, test generation and release documentation, redesigned so AI is the operating model rather than a tool on the side. Cycle time came down and quality held. I measure it with analytics drawn straight from Jira, not with slides.
What that looks like in practice
Six outcomes from recent programmes, with the numbers attached.
- Three critical milestonesdelivered on time and on budget on a high-traffic customer portal for iOS, Android and web.
- Fourteen external systemsintegrated, with zero critical failures at go-live.
- Reporting in minutesinstead of hours, with delivery analytics by team and engineer generated from Jira.
- Around 40% more throughputand lower infrastructure cost from a microservice re-architecture I drove at Accenture.
- Under 30 minutesmean time to recovery on P1 and P2 incidents, with release management through the Change Advisory Board.
- Weekly reporting to the client's C-suiteplus one RAID log and governance that client and vendor leads attend and act on.

Leadership
The part of the job I care about most is building the people who will run the next programme without me.
- I have developed peers in each of my last three organisations, through structured feedback, development plans and a gradual handover of ownership.
- At Accenture I helped people grow beyond the day job: I ran initiatives on performance and stress, mentored colleagues, served as a mental health ambassador, and organised charity and team-building events. I have also spoken on women-in-tech panels about how paternity leave shapes a career.
- I speak on delivery leadership. My talk Delivery Leadership, given within a leadership development programme, covers trust, saying no to a client, and what AI changes in a delivery lead's job. See the slides (opens in a new tab). The recording will follow.
- Accenture selected me for Program Horizon, its leadership development programme, and promoted me to Senior Technical Delivery Lead in under five years.
- In 2026 I completed the University of Hull's AI for Leaders Programme, on leading teams through AI change strategically and ethically.
Writing
I write about AI in delivery and about leading teams, mostly from what I've seen go right and wrong at work.
The recent pieces are about what AI does to professional services and to banking. The older ones are about teams: trust, remote work and how they form.

About me
I'm Portuguese and I live in the UK. I started as a Java engineer and still think like one, which is why I'm comfortable in the room with architects and engineers as well as with the board.
I hold the PMP and I'm a certified SAFe Practitioner, Scrum Master and Kanban Management Professional, and I've run release management and DevOps as well as programmes. I work in English and Portuguese, with some French.
Outside work: motorbikes, running and cycling.
